Individual Instructions
Roll both dice. Create an original piece that combines the activity from Die 1 with the emotion from Die 2. There are no right or wrong interpretations or methods. Simply allow yourself to explore and express different mediums & emotions.
Group Instructions
Tip: If someone chooses to share their creative work with the group, ask if they are open to receiving feedback. If invited to do so, the group can then share affirmations, interpretations, ideas, and/or suggestions for how the creator might further explore, experiment, and expand upon what they’ve created.
Option 1: Group Roll
Roll the dice and announce the activity + emotion combination to the group.
Set a timer for the creative work period (e.g. 15-30mins).
Everyone works individually to create a piece that combines that activity & emotion.
At the end of the work period, everyone comes together and has the option to share what they created.
Option 2: Pairs
Divide an even number of people into pairs.
Roll the dice and announce the activity + emotion combination to the group.
Set a timer for the creative work period (e.g. 15-30mins).
Everyone works in pairs to create pieces that combine that activity & emotion.
At the end of the work period, everyone comes together and shares what they created.
Alternate Version: Every pair rolls the dice on their own to get a unique activity + emotion combination. It’s okay if some pairs in the group end up with the same activities or emotions as each other.
